Git ‘ta Steppin’: The Powerful New 7-Layers Deep Exercise

What if every day you are getting absolutely, without a doubt, what you believe you deserve?

To begin, take an inventory of your gifts, talents, and abilities.

If you don’t know what they are, then what does your family think they are?  Or your friends?  Or your boss or co-workers?  Or your fellow volunteers?  What does your mentor or coach or guide or advisor say they are?

Master teacher Jiddu Krishnamurti, who died in 1986, taught me something in 2012, and even though I never met him, he changed the way I look at my life…he said, Life is relationship.

Without a doubt, my life changed when I stepped out of my self-imposed prison and reached out to make connections.

This is all about you…it’s always about you…about making one-to-one connections.  If you take nothing else away from this, I hope you hear this part…this is the first space in which you must connect the dots.  Ask yourself, as we stepped through the layers above, What was the prevailing theme for me one of connection?  Or disconnection?

Where did you finally say, Aha!  That’s where I can begin!?

1.  If you don’t know your personal gifts, talents, and abilities, are you willing to find out?  This is your first step.

The first, and most powerful step, is your willingness to go deeper.  There’s a part of you that’s designed for the deep, but don’t believe what I say.  You must be willing to go there and ask the questions that connect you to that part.

It’s no coincidence that it’s the same part of you that’s designed to thrive.

2.  If you don’t know what your gifts, talents, and abilities are, ask a family member that you admire and trust.  There’s your next step.

3.  Don’t have family, or your family doesn’t talk about these things, what about the friend that you admire and trust?  There’s your next step.

4.  Don’t have friends or the kind of friends who discuss such things?  Then ask your boss.  What does she or he say?  Refer to a performance review or a team-building or personal development assessment tool.

Your company doesn’t do that?  You can find these tools online. Or ask a co-worker, or an employee that you admire and trust.  What does that person say?  There’s your next step.

5.  Are you between jobs?  Having trouble launching your career or business venture?  Do you hate your job and the folks with whom you are forced to work?  Then ask a fellow volunteer, someone you trust and admire.  Ask that person, What are my gifts, talents, and abilities?  There’s your next step.

6.  Don’t volunteer?  Then ask your spiritual guide, guidance counselor, addictions or mental health counselor, or mentor, or coach or teacher.  There’s your next step.

7.  Don’t have at least one of these?  There’s your next step.

Following what you lack can lead you to your abundance.  Why?  Because you believe it can.

You believe you deserve better and are willing to step onto the beach…preparing for the deepest dive you can achieve at this point in time.

There’s a part of you that is designed for the deep. Deep thoughts and deep feelings. You don’t have to be a master diver in order to begin, but you must be willing to get your feet wet.

This means you must be willing to entertain the belief that you have the stuff required to Git ‘ta Steppin’…to make those connections.

You see, in all the steps I’ve taken in my life I’ve come to know this for sure:

In order to see it to be it, you must first believe that it’s possible…for you.

If you don’t believe it, if you can’t name at least one gift, talent, or ability…something you are proud to declare as yours…then how could you possibly claim it?

What is it that you believe you deserve? Abso-freakin-lootely? Without a doubt?

You must be willing to find out.  Willingness is the ultimate power move.

I’ll leave you with this challenge…the very same one I offer to myself every day that I wake up on this side of the grass…

When someone responds to your question…and, without a doubt, someone will… are you willing to you believe them?
