Your Power Moves!

I have created a program that I call Power Moves. It consists of three basic tenets:

  1. Just Say Okay. I’ll do it. This is a much gentler approach than the prevailing idea that we have to give a Hell Yes! to something in order for it to be worthy. Most of life isn’t lived in the Hell Yes! mode, but in an everyday consistent unfolding. This can be as simple as saying Okay to the day, and Okay to the experiences and interactions we have today. It is a simple acceptance of what we see before us. Not that we have to like it…some of the stuff we definitely won’t like, but when we say Okay we are reconciling what is happening in our lives – acknowledging each interaction as our point to grow on. Keep saying Okay, Okay, Okay, Okay…to whatever shows up.
  2. Break Those Barriers that are holding you back. Your best life involves change and change means breaking the chains that hold you back from considering change in a positive way…and learning from it. The only way beyond is through.
  3. Reach out. Take the hand that is extended in collaboration, congratulations, and celebration. Life is relationship – every act of life is in relation to something, or someone else. Others show us to ourselves in a way that we cannot discover in solitary confinement. Human beings have not only survived but also thrived by joining together and creating communities.

The order here is how you do it. Say Okay first, Break Barriers second, then Reach Out. The first thing you do is agree to give it a go. The first barrier that must be broken is the one that keeps you separate and confined behind a wall of hurt. Then, and only then, can you reach out and connect with others in a satisfying manner.

This involves what I describe as Willingness Power. It is vastly different from will power – trying to power through regardless of the odds.

Willingness Power is what you evoke when you gently say Okay, I’ll do it.

Just for today, that is way more than enough!
