Mind, Body, Spirit Recollection

Feeling off-balance? Confused or disoriented with all that is going on in your life?

If you are suffering from extreme anxiety, delusions or PTSD, please consult with a health care professional.

Otherwise, I would like to offer you another perspective…What there is nothing wrong with you? What if what is happening is perfectly natural?

Everyone is quick to run to a doctor, to take a pill or drink themselves into a stupor to anesthetize those feelings that may simply be a coming of age experience spiritually.

It is my perspective that we are hard-wired to seek that which is more expansive than our small self – call it what you will…spirit, Tao, Chi, source, science…god, God, Universe, whatever.

And whether we enjoy the feeling or not is moot. Your anxiety may be your fear of facing the fact that you don’t know anything for sure. You are not comfortable with being uncomfortable. That is a perfectly natural feeling.

When a person gets a glimpse of perspective – when they see that there is more to life than meets the eye – that you are a spiritual being having a human experience – it is disorienting.

Many times during my day I am reminded that I am the observer, as well as the observed. I realize that I am something “other” than this vehicle in which I move and have my being…I treat “her” well, but someday I will leave Paula right where she died, right?

Where I find myself from that point is only speculation. There may be no more me. It is an unknown frontier. But one thing is certain, it is what it is.

Holy crap, I am glad for that! It means that this small mammalian, self-absorbed, aging organism is not all there is to life. There is something other – consider what quantum mechanics has discovered about the foundation of life as just one example.

I can see why folks who believe that this is all there is are truly in despair.

I would suggest that you consider this as an opportunity to explore your inner self – to begin finding resources that resonate with you and offer you new perspectives on life.

Just because the majority of people believe something is true doesn’t make it true.

Do not settle for just one…check out as many as you can. This is the way of the spiritually courageous. To do otherwise is to sink back into the mire.

If you find value in this post, please share it.
