2019: The Year of The Warrior

It’s the perfect time to begin, or to begin again!

It’s time to celebrate!  We have a fresh, new year ahead of us in which to learn and grow, to make new pathways in our brains that spark our creativity, fire our goals, and inspire us to live our very best life!
Have you made any resolutions?  The standard meaning of the word “resolution” is a firm decision to do (or not to do) something.  It’s true, most new year’s resolutions crash and burn before January is over.  So let’s reframe this practice by keeping it simple.
Let’s just make one.  Let’s resolve to find refreshing new ways to get inspired, fired up, and wired up for vibrant health!  Let’s use the month of January as a time of R&R&R (renewal, rejuvenation, and recovery).  It just takes a bit of creativity!
Creativity is being open to possibilities.  It is that elegant and that simple.
31 days!  That’s plenty of time!  31 days to apply some R&R&R to your ordinary, everyday life.
Begin a new phase in your life with the spirit of a Warrior!
In this context, a warrior is someone who believes in something bigger than themselves.  They live by a code that I call the 4F’s – Fearless faith, focus, and fortitude.  Fearless, because when you begin doing what you fear you begin to fear it less and less; faith in the wellspring of inspiration (and your own resourcefulness) that is available for all in all ways; focus – keeping your eyes on the prize and following your vision of your very best life; and fortitude – the tenacity that keeps you placing one foot ahead of the other on the trek, regardless of setbacks, or even failure.
Because you are worth your best effort.  Because those you love are worth your best effort.
I am not attempting to inspire you to be Lagertha or Ragnar Lodbrok from Vikings, but to offer you inspiration that can kick-start your personal resolve get in the best shape of your life – to eat cleaner and greener, get stronger and leaner!  To feel free and empowered in your own rockin’ bod, in 2019.
Are you willing?  Will you resolve to use this time to consider new possibilities?
I am 58 and plan on bidding farewell to 2019 in the best shape of my life!  Physical and emotional wellbeing are two of my favorite topics to explore.  In the past year, I have been doing tons of research and studying the best and newest science in psychology, nutrition, exercise, and longevity.  I would be honored to share some of what I call my WOW! moments of insight with you.
I love sports, the outdoors, and naturally, outdoor sports!  We road bike, kayak, snowshoe, and cross-country ski.  We also resistance train at the gym when the weather gets too cranky.  But most of all my husband and I love to hike mountains (Mt. Katahdin in Maine, USA and Mt. Washington in New Hampshire, USA, are among some of our favorite mountains to hike ever!).  In October 2019 we are planning to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu – this is my personal “prize” for 2019 and I have my eyes firmly fixed on it!!
I am huge on metrics – how far I’ve walked, how much weight I lift, how far I bike or hike, and now – tracking my sleep quality.  I received a Huawei Health Band 2 Pro for Christmas (it has a sleep tracker) and will be posting on how this Health Band product performs – I’ve been workin’ it for 6 days now and really like it.
Perhaps you are very close to being in the shape of your life.  Perhaps you have a way to go before you are in the shape of your life…regardless of your fitness level, it would be cool to have you join me on this trek!
We can make this year, the Year of The Warrior, by bringing fearless faith, focus, and fortitude to our everyday actions!

  1. The other day, while I was at work, my cousin stole my iphone and tested to see if it can survive a 30 foot drop, just so she can be a
youtube sensation. My apple ipad is now destroyed and she has 83 views.
I know this is completely off topic but I had to share it
    with someone!

  2. I got this web page from my buddy who shared with me on the topic of this web site and
now this time I am browsing this web page and reading very informative articles at this place.

  3. This design is steller! You certainly know how to keep a reader entertained.

Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog
(well, almost…HaHa!) Great job. I really loved what
you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it.
    Too cool!

  4. Combine this characteristic having its capability to supply
a quality workout, and you really are surely embracing the most effective equipment there is.

Some from the newest models even allow you to pickk from
famous areas (like the Rocky Mountains), and also the
machine will automatically incline to the degree that could simulate a hike in the
Rockies. It can also allow you to raise your burned calories
for a number of hours after your exercise.

  5. I have to thank you for the effortts you have put in pnning this website.
I’m hoping to see the same high-grade blog posts from yyou later oon as well.

In fact, your creative writing abilities has inspired me
to get my very own site now 😉

  6. Do you mind if I quote a couple of your articles as long
as I provide credit and sources back to your website?

My blog site is in the exact same niche as
yours and my visitors would truly benefit from
a lot of the information you present here. Please let me know if
    this alright with you. Cheers!
